"The Hand You're Dealt" was made for the 2008 Almost Famous 48 hour challenge, where it won 2nd Place Comedy, among other awards.  The challenge required that a theme, prop, and a line of dialogue be integrated into the movie.  The theme was "Miscalculation."  The prop was a key, which had to be turned.  And the line of dialogue was, "Are you sure that's it?"  The movie was a made at a fever pitch, becoming at that time the most setups we had ever shot in one day, which was forty-six.
